Financial Literacy & Empowerment
At Harriman Programs, we go beyond quality after school programming and strive to economically empower our students, staff, and communities through project based learning. This mission guides all of our day to day decision making and allows us to shape our programs around this core ideal.
The Harriman Student Economy
The Harriman Student Economy is our economic empowerment course that our 4th-8th graders are enrolled in. Through an incentive based program, they choose a profession, learn about salary through Harriman Bucks, buying & selling, saving and investing in a way that is fun and exciting.
Stock Market Course
In our stock market course, our students are given money to invest in real stocks and learn how the stock market works.
Commitment to Community Businesses
We have a commitment to sourcing our supplies local, Black and Brown owned businesses, choosing to spend our program dollars in the communities in which our schools reside.
